I went to a new restaurant/bakery in Warsaw - Żywioły. Before I was either in a bakery or in a restaurant. In my universe those two places are located on the opposite sides: a bakery is something small, comfy, preferably local, and a restaurant is something elevated. This place, however, has the benefits of both. Certainly, it’s elegant and not small at all, but without high posh vibes which make you feel uncomfortable and you are afraid to grab the fork.
Look at this. Yes, it’s not a typical bakery or a coffee house but warm colours calm you down. On the left side, there is a big corner with the various croissants, desserts, sandwiches, brioches, you name it, they have everything. Only one big downside is that they don’t have vegan desserts 😐
…and they also don’t have many vegan options in general. So I ordered crushed eggplant with vegan feta cheese and raspberry lemonade. It was delicious but the lemonade was too sweet to my taste. My sister took roasted grain lemonade and I liked hers more.
I’d come back there to try their vegan sandwiches because sandwiches are one of my favourite meals. I often eat alone when I work from office and I prefer to grab a croissant or tofu sandwich in a near-by cafe. Hm 🤔 probably I need to make a post about my favourite sandwiches in Warsaw 🙃
Almost forgot… if you are in Warsaw and you want to go to Żywioły, here is the address: Chmielna 19.
